Strategic transport plan

The primary objectives for transporting the main categories of users during the World Rowing Championships are:

• to provide priority transport for all accredited groups of people (competitors, officials, FISA, media) that meet their needs for reliability, appropriate comfort and minimal travel times
• to ensure spectators easy access to the lake and efficient parking systems

Overall transport management

Transport will be organized by the Organizing Committee and its subcommittee for transportation. It will be situated in the Festival Hall, located at the lake bank just next to the starting area. The main transport hub will be located at the car park next to the sports hall, which is only 200 metres away from the Festival Hall.

General structure of transport

From the time of arrival at Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, or the Ljubljana or Kranj Railway stations, transport system to hotels will be available to all participants, media and guests. A separate system for FISA will run based on cars used for their transportation.

Accommodation and transportation

Transportation of the participants will be closely connected with their accommodation location. Taking into account that Bled is a small city and that most of the accommodation is situated within a 500 meter radius, cars for competitors and members of the press will be leaving from the same area. The vehicles for competitors will run along a predetermined route, which will be closed for other traffic. During the championship the traffic around the lake will be one-way, namely counterclockwise. The central gathering place for all accredited championship participants will be located at the car park next to the sports hall, which is approximately 200 metres away from the Festival Hall. Stops will be located at the Boathouse Area and in Velika Zaka, at the finish area.
