Britain Winning the First World Cup Session of the Season

The national rowing team of Great Britain showed excellent performances at Lake Bled World Cup. The British crew won six of 14 final A races, finishing first respectively. Besides that Britain also got five silver medals. Canada was next up with two wins, the US, New Zealand, Denmark, Croatia, Belarus and the Czech Republic each winning one event.

The prestigious race of the mens eights was won by the British crew, Netherlands finishing second, Poland third. British girls won the womens eight in front of the Dutch and the Chinese crews. In the mens single sculls Ondrej Synek won respectively, Alan Campbell from Great Britain was second, the German Marcel Hacker third. Ekaterina Karsten Kodotovich was fastest in the womens single sculls, Emma Twigg from New Zealand was second, Tang Bin from China third.

Next World Cup meet is planned in Munich, the Olympic course from 1972 will host the regatta from 18th to 20th June.
